Introduction to the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
This course aims to introduce participants to PECS, one of the most effective systems for teaching functional communication to non-verbal children or those with communication disorders. Participants will explore the core principles of the system, its six phases, and how to implement it across various settings, including schools, homes, and clinics.
The course includes practical exercises, real-life examples, and tips to support successful implementation of PECS, along with discussions on common challenges and strategies for overcoming them.

With a background as a seasoned speech-language pathologist, I bring over seventeen years of experience in conducting comprehensive evaluations and implementing targeted interventions. My expertise lies in treating a spectrum of disorders encompassing speech, language, voice, fluency, developmental, processing, and swallowing issues, meticulously documenting patient care throughout.
Beyond direct practice, I actively contribute to the professional community through the design and delivery of specialized training programs. Moreover, these initiatives equip fellow professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively support children with diverse communication needs. This underscores my dedication to leadership and ongoing advancement within the field of speech and language therapy.
Furthermore, my involvement in clinical research and professional training further underscores my commitment to excellence. I specialize in designing evidence-based training programs covering aural rehabilitation, speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, and early intervention strategies, ensuring that best practices are disseminated and implemented across the discipline.
